Meet Maddie Stipsits:
Hi everyone! Happy Star Wars day! My name is Maddie Stipsits and I am a sophomore outfielder at Washburn. I’m currently majoring in Kinesiology, concentrating in Exercise and Rehab Science. After receiving my bachelor's, I plan on attending graduate school in order to earn my Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) so I can work as a physical therapist. Physical therapy is something that I’ve always been very passionate about, that passion has only grown through the opportunities that Washburn has provided me.
It’s all about Family Time:
Since the canceling of our season, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my family. I have two younger sisters (ages 17 and 12) who also got their softball season cancelled. We’ve spent a lot of time with our dad in the side yard or at the fields working on softball. In an attempt to stay positive, we are trying to use this quarantine as a time to improve, so we’re even more ready for softball to start back up again. The biggest thing I’ve learned during this time is how important softball is to me. It has given me a new determination to be the best that I can be before my eligibility time clock runs out. Besides softball, I’ve been spending most of my time doing homework, re-reading Harry Potter, and watching Netflix.
Missing Washburn:
This time has made me so much more appreciative of Washburn as a whole. I never thought I’d say it but I actually miss having to wake up for weights and class! I miss everyone in the Washburn family greatly, and I can’t wait to be back on campus. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. SKO BODS!
P.S. May the 4th be with you
