Meet Marrit Mead
My name is Marrit Mead and I am an incoming freshman infielder from Overbrook, KS. I attended Santa Fe Trail High School and  just finished my last semester of high school. There I was a four-year starter for the softball program.  I also played volleyball, basketball, and competed in track.  I play travel softball for Top Gun Academy- Angels. I am incredibly grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of an organization with so much love for the game. I have the best coaches and teammates who have helped me become the player I am today.

Why Washburn?
Washburn felt like home the minute I stepped on campus. The people are very welcoming. The campus is beautiful with improvements constantly being made.  Plus, the chance to play college ball so close to my home is a dream come true. I can't wait to be on Washburn's campus in August! I am so excited to get to know all my new teammates and coaches while playing the game I love.

Getting through this time:
During the corona virus outbreak, I have found many things to keep me busy. At the beginning of quarantine I kept myself busy with school work, workouts, painting, and walks with my dog. Now that we are able to be in groups while continuing to stay socially distant, I have been able to see some of my friends and family. I hope everyone stays safe and continues safety regulations so we can return to our normal lives. GO BODS!!
