Meet Brianna Fuchs:
Hello Ichabod family. My name is Brianna Fuchs. I am a senior outfielder for Washburn. Out of high school I attended Cowley County Community College.  I went on a visit to Washburn and immediately loved how beautiful the campus was and all the people I passed by with bright smiles, it made everything feel like home. I committed for my last two years. I am majoring in Kinesiology and striving to find a career path I will be successful in.

Always find the positive:
Every morning I wake up and remind myself to quit worrying about what life is going to be like after this quarantine and live in the moment. I live by something my dad always used to say ,“it is what it is”. Sometimes I find myself worrying too much about things I cannot control.  No matter how many negatives I have come across through this tough time, I always find a positive in the negative.

I lost my dad two years ago to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. My mother also lost most of her eye sight when I was a little girl. They both taught me how to fight tough battles. Times have been tough, but I am happy to be home spending lots of time helping with anything she needs and teaching my little brother to drive. Being away from home and always being busy with softball, I’ve cherished the time I have had being home with my family and making memories.

Looking to the future:
I pray that through this hard time people are finding their own way to cope and finding new things to enjoy while staying home. I miss being surrounded by teammates, coaches, athletic trainers, and Ichabod family. Although my senior season got cut short, I am thankful for the games I played, the memories made, and all the time I spent surrounded by my team.  I am fortunate enough to be granted another year of eligibility to finish out my career. I can’t wait to put in work with my team and come out stronger together. GO BODS & SEE YOU SOON TOP CITY !!
